HELP!!! I’M A TEEN


INTRODUCTION


Hi kids! Ooopps! Hi teens!





How happy are you with yourselves? Are you in the mood today? Or are you feeling depressed? Thinking that no one understands you and takes you seriously?
Are you concerned with your body image? How do you deal with your anger? Do you have troubles you can’t solve?
Slow down a bit! It’s wonderful to be a teen! It’s a wonderful world around you although there are some dangers! ...

But you’ll be an adolescent only once in your life.
There’s always a solution for every problem you feel you have, even if you don’t believe it. Be positive! Share your problems and become informed on how to deal with them by working with your peers on this Webquest.

TASK
Are you ready to learn how to better deal with your problems?


So, you are going to do a web search following the links suggested on one, and only one, of the topics related with the theme “Teens’Problems”.
After that, you are going with your group to prepare a PowerPoint to present the result/final product with the relevant aspects, orally to your class and teacher.
Finally, you are also going to create with all the members of your group a persuasive slogan to give some advice according to your topic on how to be a healthy teen.





And now: 1, 2, 3, GO!




PROCESS



Step1. Form groups of 4 students.
Step2. Choose one of the following topics:

Topic A – Addictions
A1- Net
A2- Drugs and Alcohol







Topic B – Body Image (low self-esteem)



Topic C – Peer Pressure


Topic D- Eating Disorders
D1-Obesity
D2-Anorexia

Step3. Do the web search following the links available online for your topic.
Step 4. Each topic has the following 4 points/questions:

1- Identification/Definition/ Type of problem
2- Reasons that can cause the problem OR physical and/or mental effects of the problem (it depends on the topic)
3- Treatment/Recovery /How to solve the problem
4- Prevention / How to prevent/avoid the problem

Choose in group the one you are responsible for.
Step 5. On the websites look for information to answer your question.
Step 6. Take relevant notes by using mind maps or graphic organizers.
Step 7.
7.1. Get together with your group and prepare a Powerpoint presentation by rearranging the information you have selected.
7.2. Create with your group a persuasive slogan to give some advice on how to be a healthy teen, according to the topic chosen by your group. You can include some pictures and do it on a computer or on a poster.
Step 8. Study your presentation carefully so that you are fluent and speak clearly to the class.
Step 9. Present it orally only with the relevant aspects.
Step 10. Present your slogan at the end of your presentation.
